The Nicholson House
This Gothic home in Indiana has earned itself the distinction of being one of Indiana’s most haunted. Rumors swirl that multiple spirits inhabit it, including that of a girl wearing white. Additionally, reports have surfaced of unexplained noises, toilets flushing themselves and doors slamming shut on their own; and it even earned fame when featured on ghost hunting television show hosted by Zak Bagans.
Fans of the paranormal should visit this outdoor haunted house! Make sure to wear sturdy shoes and a hat as it promises an intense, heart-pounding experience! Guests navigate their way through haunted rooms inhabited by evil spirits. Derelict buildings contain evil spirits and there are other such locations inhabited by spirits that might pose harm or are home for evil forces. Guests are welcome to interact with these spirits but should do so politely and respectably; ticket options and prices vary accordingly.
Elkhart Civic Theatre
Horror enthusiasts must visit Indiana’s most haunted house if they love terrifying environments. Reportedly haunted by various ghosts — including an apparition of the woman who committed suicide after giving birth stillborn. There has also been sightings of banging sounds, moans, footsteps and electrical devices turning on and off on their own, along with mysterious shadows.
Elkhart Civic Theatre has long been considered one of Indiana’s best haunted houses, and this spooky attraction stands as proof. According to legend, its former artistic director’s ghost can often be seen jogging through the upstairs mezzanine on foggy days and sending books and papers flying off shelves as he runs around it. On occasion he may also switch on sewing machines or project moving shafts of light – or just plain haunting everything around!
The Blue Lady
The Blue Lady haunted house is an increasingly popular haunted attraction in the area for good reason: not only is it terrifying and affordable, making it the ideal option for newcomers or those on tight budgets looking for their first haunted experience.
This spooky inn has an eerie past that befits its name. Visitors have reported witnessing the ghostly figure known as The Blue Lady appear, singing and playing pianos when no one else was around. Other reports include blue mist, elevators that move by themselves and unexplained noises.
The Alexander Hannah House
The Alexander Hannah House in Indianapolis is an eerie haunted house believed to be haunted by the spirits of both its original owner, Alexander Hannah, and her stillborn infant. According to local legend, Alexander Hannah built this house in 1858 after becoming a prosperous farmer and community leader. Later became involved with the Underground Railroad to help freed slaves reach Canada. Hannah held many respected public roles such as sheriff, postmaster and Indiana State Legislator.
Other paranormal phenomena occurring at this house include sink faucets turning on and off without explanation, strange noises being heard at nighttime and hearing a ghostly woman’s voice from time to time; also there has been sightings of a spirit belonging to a small girl in this home.
This haunted house can be found within the former Central Indiana Hospital for the Insane, built in 1848. Visitors should be warned that they may be touched, grabbed, sent into hidden cells, or even removed from their group while visiting this attraction – which opens every Friday and Saturday night from September 16 – November 5, 2022.
