Margaret “Molly” Brown’s former home in Denver was once considered one of the most haunted places in Colorado. Over its history, this historic home has seen multiple transformations including being used as a hotel, boarding house for women and men, Jane Addams Hull House settlement settlement and Hotel.
Historic Denver, Inc. saved it from being demolished in 1970 through Art Leisenring’s initiative of engaging the Denver community in saving pieces of Denver history.
Since Molly’s home became a museum, visitors and staff members alike have reported various paranormal activity at the property, from smells of pipe smoke coming from JJ (Molly’s husband) to lights flickering on and off randomly; many have seen ghostly figures wandering the rooms and rearrange furniture; some even report having awakened to find a cowboy standing by their bedside!

The hotel is also home to numerous headless ghosts, such as an elderly woman rumored to haunt Room 661 after she was killed there during a barfight in 1911 and seen roaming freely about. Paranormal investigators have openly been invited onto its property.
