Wythe House

Lady Anne Skipwith is said to haunt Wythe House. Her story is tragic: at a party at Governor’s Palace, she witnessed her husband flirting with his younger sister on the dance floor; outraged, she stormed back home where she ran up and down stairs stomping and eventually losing one of her red shoes in the process.
She died soon afterwards, yet her ghost remains visible in the house. Visitors have reported hearing her footsteps and seeing an apparition with full body features; also, its front door and window shutters have opened by themselves on several occasions.
