When Haunted Houses Open

Many of the nation’s scariest haunted houses remain open all year, from Halloween through special holidays like Christmas, Valentine’s Day and St Patrick’s Day or Friday the 13th.

If you want to visit a haunted house, make sure that it is on an off-peak day of the week; that way it will be less crowded and your chances of scaring are higher!

Halloween Season

At Halloween time, visiting haunted houses can be both thrilling and terrifying – the ideal opportunity to indulge your darkest fears! There will be plenty of bloodshed to enjoy during your visit.

The Bedlam Institute offers an interactive choose your own adventure of horror in the ruins of an occultist Doctor’s seminary where they tortured and disfigured unwilling patients. At this year’s event, guests will come face-to-face with terrifying spirits of those victims that will stop at nothing to exact revenge on those responsible.

This home haunt is open Fridays and Saturdays throughout October for visitors of all ages to experience terrifying corridors, dark graveyards, and demonic entities in order to escape them. Donations will be accepted for autism and cerebral palsy organizations.

Christmas Season

Christmas can be an unnerving time, which is why so many haunted houses open during this holiday season – even some that remain open year-round!

Creamy Acres Farm hosts the Night of Terror for those who love being scared; featuring zombies, killer clowns and other terrifying sights such as haunted paintball hayrides with mounted zombie paintball guns for guests to shoot at while riding in wagons with them.

Brighton Asylum is a horror complex featured on The Today Show, Cake Boss and Buzzfeed that provides walk-through experiences featuring Hollywood-quality special effects and live actors. They are open Friday-Saturday nights in October plus certain Sunday nights.

The 13th Hour is an eerie three-story haunted house that offers guests an exhilarating three-floor experience. Additionally, two pitch-black outdoor mazes and an engaging 60-minute escape room provide visitors with even more thrills and chills.

Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day marks a momentous observance in honor of St. Valentine, celebrated each February 14th. Originating as Roman holiday Lupercalia celebrated in February, some believe the church converted this feast day to Valentine’s Day as an attempt at Christianizing love and affection celebration. Nowadays, this day is known for sending cards and gifting sweets.

Brighton Asylum of Long Island — which has been featured on The Today Show, Cake Boss, and Buzzfeed — returns this October with more thrills for visitors. Featuring an unnerving walk-through haunted asylum with live actors performing within it and Hollywood quality special effects; Brighton Asylum will be open Friday through Sunday nights from October. St. Patrick’s Day

On St. Patrick’s Day, you may not witness green rivers or attend parades — however there are still ways you can honor the Irish — including visiting haunted houses!

This haunted house offers multiple visits during October, with tickets beginning at just $30 for admission and VIP passes also being made available.

Smithville, Texas attraction just southeast of Austin hosts its Summer Monster Bash each June 11-12-18-19-25 and 26. New this year is Hell on Wheels – an interactive hayride attraction! Recommended for those aged 16 years and up due to strong language and graphic content that may not be appropriate for children; not recommended for those suffering from darkness phobia or claustrophobia.

Easter

As Halloween events across the country unfold, their purpose is clear. From exploring abandoned mental facilities to encountering cannibalistic serial killers – nothing beats celebrating this season than venturing through haunted houses!

Terror Haunt is an all-new experience located within The Bedlam Institute and promises an unforgettable ride through its fictional ruins, where possessed patients await visitors.
