Waverly Hills Sanatorium was constructed during the early 1900s in response to a tuberculosis epidemic plaguing Louisville. Rumors swirled that its doctors conducted torturous experiments on patients in order to find a cure, including inhumane experiments on some individuals.
Since 1881, this property has been home to wolves and Native American ghosts – much to its current owner’s delight! Now in 2019, it offers two upcharge attractions: gelly ball and an escape game.
Grim Trails
Grim Trails provides an intense haunted house experience. This haunted trail takes visitors through myths and folklore like you’ve never experienced it before, with encounters like yeti, Count Dragon, Hansel and Gretel being just a few of its attractions.
Waverly Hills Sanatorium has earned itself the distinction of one of America’s most haunted locations. Once used to treat tuberculosis patients, its dark past extends well beyond this purposeful use.

The Haunted Hotel
Hotel management claims it is haunted by a nurse seen tending to patients and then quickly vanishes when approached. Additionally, reports of unusual elevator behavior and cold spots have also been received at this property.
This Louisville landmark used to serve as a tuberculosis hospital, and many of the ghosts reported here may be from former patients who succumbed to Dr. Finch’s cruel treatments. Visitors have claimed to spot ghostly figures roaming through the halls or even feeling cold fingers puncturing his foot barefoot!
