Margaret Tobin Brown aspired to be part of Denver society and built this lavish turn-of-the-century mansion. After her husband struck it rich in mining in Leadville she became a prominent figure in the local suffrage movement.
The house was saved from demolition in 1970 by Historic Denver, Inc and restored. Over the years visitors have reported spooky occurrences such as hearing footsteps, seeing apparitions and smelling phantom cigar smoke.
Hotel Colorado
