Bodie State Historic Park
Though cemeteries tend to come to mind when thinking of haunted places in California, there are also plenty of creepy locations worth visiting that are definitely worth a look – like Bodie State Historic Park. Once an active mining town that produced over 38 million dollars of gold and silver production. At its height it had 60 saloons, three breweries and even a red light district! Oak Park Cemetery
Oak Park Cemetery boasts some stunning landmarks, including the rotunda of the Great Mausoleum and Fountain of Apostles. Furthermore, Sunrise Hill Cross – a small summit that overlooks the cemetery – serves as final resting place for many of Oak Park’s founders and influencers.

Oak Park Cemetery’s African-American section was established as part of Houston’s segregated burial grounds in 1930 when a separate burial ground for Blacks was created by Oak Park Cemetery Association and American Trust Company. Today, these graves remain an integral part of Houston history while also acting as a reminder of civil rights struggle across America.
Julian Cemetery
Julian is a small, charming town that retains the feeling of old California.
